Jobs/Roles in the ECE Community: National/Federal Level

Three organizations that interest me and I would be so grateful for any job at would be NAEYC, National Head Start Association as well as National Association of Early Childhood Educators.  Although I would love the experience of working at these different organizations my true passion is to be in a college classroom directly assisting future early childhood educators.  The jobs I located on these sites would require me to have additional understanding of national standards and criteria.  As an owner and director of an early childcare facility I am knowledgeable when it comes to these different issues, but I feel that I would need a deeper more complex understanding to actually work at these organizations.   Three specific jobs I would be interested and currently have the education required to fulfill are Public Policy Associate, Program Coordinator, as well as a Human Resource.

  1. Brooke,

The organizations you listed have contributed significantly to the early childhood field. Like you, I also have a passion for working with adults. I strongly agree that you will need to have at least an overview of what these organizations are about in order to work at these places. The jobs you listed are very interesting and I hope that you will be able to execute your passion.

  2. You are so right you need to have some kind of understanding of hoe these organization work before you can actually work for them. I chose the NAEYC as an organization as well feel it would be neat to be on the other side of helping to get centers accredited. I have been through the process, so it would be great to be on the side of helping others to prepare for their accreditation. The jobs you chose are interesting as well.

  3. Brooke,

Did the organizations have any jobs posted that were specially interesting to you? I agree that National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC) and National Head Start Association are great organizations. I am not familiar with the National Association of Early Childhood Educators. I am going to visit their website and learn more about this organization because it seems like it might be a great organization. How did you learn about the National Association of Early Childhood Educators?

Is that center that you are a director of NAEYC accredited? Are you a part of your states Quality Rating and Improvement System?

Thanks for sharing. I love to learn about new opportunities.

    thanks,
    Jill
