Life II

*A quote about children, childhood, families, early childhood, etc. that is especially meaningful to you.

"We worry about what a child will become tomorrow, yet we forget that he is someone today."
- Stacia Tauscher

*The title of a children's book you love and what you love about it

The giving tree, a story by Shell Silverstein
Overview

"Once there was a little tree...and she loved a little boy." So begins a story of unforgettable perception, beautifully written and illustrated by the gifted and versatile Shell Silverstein.

Every day the boy would come to the tree to eat her apples, swing from her branches, or slide down her trunk...and the tree was happy. But as the boy grew older he wanted more from the tree, and the tree gave and gave and gave.

This is a tender story touched with sadness, aglow with consolation.

A story about a child that touched your heart.......

Earlier today I wrote about how you never know what is about to happen and man that is the truth. I own Green Gables Day School and love each one of my 72 children like they are my own. Today one of my three year old had a seizure on the playground. It is the first time I had to call 911 in ten years of being open. The child fell into a very deep sleep after the seizure and his breathing became irregular. As I lay on the mulch next to this precious child waiting for the ambulance to arrive, I realize just how quickly things can change. I held that child's hand until EMS arrived. As lay there with his hand on mine I looked at that small hand, he is so tiny an innocent. In ten years he probably will not remember me, but this child has touched my heart.

Life

It is amazing to me how quickly life can change when you least expect it.  For some reason something will hit me and I just jump on it.  This is sometimes a good thing and sometimes a very bad thing.  I have had to learn to take time before reacting when it comes to business decisions at my preschool.  When young children are involved it is easy to react on emotions alone.  Sometimes it is best to stop, think and evaluate the best way to handle a situation or problem before trying to solve it on impulse.

To Live Life!

My goal for 2013 is to live my life!  I am a mother of two precious children and I want to show to them that education is vital for the world we live in.  The more knowledge we have the better we understand situations that surround us daily,  We must teach our children that education is not just important to further our careers, but a valuable way to understand the world around us.

Be Positive!

Children look to us on a daily basis to understand the world around them.  Remember how important it is to be a positive role model....
